The role

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, organised and experienced Clinic Nurse Administrator to join our Pain Management Clinic on a full-time basis.

This is a clinic-based role combining nursing and administration. You will work closely with our Consultant Doctors, Medical Secretaries and wider team, helping to care for patients during consultations, procedures, treatments and infusions, while also supporting the day-to-day running of the clinic. The role would suit a nurse who enjoys patient contact, teamwork and variety in their working day.

Our team consists of two Professors, one Consultant Doctor, one IT Specialist and two Medical Secretaries. We are a busy but supportive practice, with a strong focus on providing patients with a professional, compassionate and positive experience.

Key responsibilities

Clinical support

  • Assist doctors with procedures, treatments and infusions carried out in the clinic.
  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for procedures and treatments.
  • Support and monitor patients before, during and after treatment as required.
  • Carry out routine nursing observations and clinical documentation.
  • Assist with IV treatments and infusions.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean and well-organised clinical environment.
  • Monitor clinical supplies, medications and equipment.
  • Provide reassurance and support to patients throughout their visit.

Clinic administration

  • Work alongside our Medical Secretaries to support the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.
  • Manage appointments, referrals and patient scheduling.
  • Assist with procedure and theatre bookings.
  • Communicate with patients by telephone, email and in person.
  • Liaise with private health insurers regarding treatment approvals where required.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Assist consultants with clinic letters, reports, referrals and correspondence.
  • Help manage clinic and office supplies.
  • Support general administrative tasks as required.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current NMBI registration.
  • IV cannulation, infusions or intravenous therapy.
  • BLS & ACLS Certificate up to date.
  • Previous nursing experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
  • Comfortable assisting doctors with procedures and direct patient care.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
  • Good attention to detail and respect for patient confidentiality.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team.
  • A compassionate and patient-focused approach.

Desirable

  • 5 years healthcare or consultant clinics.
  • Medical administration.
  • Electronic patient record systems such as iMedDoc, MedServ or similar.

Working hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm. Full-time | On-site | In person. This is a fully clinic-based role due to the patient-facing nature of the position. Available from January 2027.
